Most invoicing tools assume one company, one country, one tax number.
That is not how a modern services business works. You might invoice from a Hong Kong entity this week and a US LLC the next. Your client wants a PDF; your accountant wants a Word file they can actually edit. Your numbering has to be defensible if anyone ever asks. And the VAT line is 0%, which half the tools on the market cannot express without a workaround.
So the invoice ends up being made by hand in a word processor, the numbering lives in someone's memory, and every invoice is a small chance to get something wrong.

Word and PDF, from one source
Both files are produced together, and the PDF is converted from the Word document rather than drawn separately. They are identical, not merely similar. Your client gets a PDF; your accountant gets a file they can edit; nobody gets a surprise.

Each company has its own sequence, starting wherever you choose. The number is reserved in the same transaction that writes the invoice, so a failure never burns one. Cancelling an invoice keeps its number in the sequence. No gaps, no repeats, no quiet renumbering.

Numbers that mean what you typed
Type 1 250,50 or 1,250.50 and both mean the same amount. Type 1,5 and it stays one and a half. Nineteen currencies, each with the right decimals and symbol placement.
Sent, and provably so
The invoice goes out with the PDF attached and an English covering message you can edit, with the number, amount and payment terms filled in. Every send is logged with its result.
Security
Two-factor authentication is not an option here; it is the way in.
Password plus Google Authenticator at every sign-in, and enrolment is enforced — until it is finished, nothing in the application is reachable. Eight one-time recovery codes mean a lost phone is an inconvenience rather than a lockout.

invoice.la is a hosted online service, so your account and invoice data are stored by the service rather than on a server you need to operate yourself.
Two designs ship with it — A4 and US Letter — and you set the logo, colours of record, wording, terms and layout details per company. A bespoke design is a template change rather than a rewrite.
No. invoice.la generates the invoice documents for you. You and your client do not need Microsoft Word or any special invoicing software installed to use the service.
You are given eight one-time recovery codes when you set up two-factor authentication. Any one of them signs you in, and you can generate a new set afterwards.
Yes, and the documents are rebuilt — but the number never changes. Each invoice also keeps a snapshot of the company, client and bank details as they were when it was issued, so correcting an address next year does not rewrite last year's invoices.
